General Information

Crickhowell is located in the Powys region of WalesUnited Kingdom and sits on the river Usk, in the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, on the southern edge of the Black Mountains.

A small market town, Crickhowell is growing in the tourism industry with the summer months being especially busier.  In 2005 a Tourist Information centre was built which is filled with information on the town and area.  There are many local shops and restaurants lining the streets, with a good friendly atmosphere.

A notable feature of Crickhowell includes the seventeenth century stone bridge with its odd-numbered arches over the river - a fantastic feature immortalised in images portraying the town.  Agriculture is still an important industry for the area with over 20 000 acres forming part of the Glanusk Park Estate.  Most people visit Crickhowell to see the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, to experience the outdoor life.
